Who here lives in Atlanta? I may be coming down late 2018 for training. What’s good in your city? Update: so far, not much.

Do you like traffic?

Uh, no. But I imagine I won't be driving at all.

Do you know where in the city you’ll be staying? I don’t live there anymore so my info may be outdated.

In my experience it’s not a real touristy town. I guess Buckhead is still a thing and the area around Olympic Park. You will find good food almost everywhere, so that’s a plus. I used to go to Atlanta regularly, but haven’t been in about five years.

Atlanta is great these days.
Sports: Falcons, Braves, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Hawks . Catch a pro or college football game or basketball game.
The Porsche Experience Center
Check Road Atlanta’s schedule. Petit LeMans is incredible.
Arts: The Fox Theatre is beautiful with Broadway touring shows. There are lots of other theaters as well - Horizon, Actors Express, Alliance. There’s also The Shakespeare Tavern and Agatha ’s A Taste of Mystery dinner theatre.
Plenty of brew pubs, bars and restaurants and nice hotels.
The Cheetah (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)
The College Football Hall of Fame
That’s what I could think of off the top of my head. W hat are your interests ?

Lived in the suburbs my whole life. Yeah, no. Pretend you’re in South Africa; if you’re in a building or something, please stay there and don’t venture out. A lot of people love Atlanta, but my experiences and stuff I’ve seen make me not a fan of the big city. I probably got that from my parents, who are also not Atlanta fans.

I was in the Atlanta airport for a 5 hour layover in 2009. It was 4 billion degrees, muggy, and everyone was pretty rude.
Also there were no clocks in the whole airport. It was bizarre.

Try to schedule it so you’re here the first Sunday of that month.
Now google “ Caffei ne & Octane Atlanta” to find out why.
If you’re into visiting craft brewerie s, there’s a bunch of those. If you like food, there’s a ton of great places to eat too . If you like a certain type of food, let me know and I can recommend the best in the city.

I graduated (got out) of Georgia Tech almost 25 years ago. Back in those days Atlanta was pretty dreary. Nobody walked and everyone left on the weekends. The City has changed considerably since then and has far more going for it. I hope to retire in the city (can't believe I'm talking about retirement). These days it's really not that much different from any other major metropolitan area.

Well, you can pretty much eat and get drunk anywhere. Check out Park Tavern or Publik House (next to The Fox).
Oh, I almost forget to mention The World of Coke and The Aquarium.
